@Amy Brown the class rules simply say a minimum of 17". Very different info to that provided by you. There is no mention of mast length / height of gooseneck in the rules.
Hi the length of the "c" & new"d" booms to be used with the OTT sails are 17" from end to end of the boom itself, the measurements Amy put up are training sail setting guidelines that were give out to help with sail setting.
There are no height measurements for the masts, the only Factory measurement is from the bottom of the mast to the bottom most part of the goose neck. which is 4.5" (114mm) +- 0.5" (12.5mm).
But the rules say it has to of been provided by the Factory and unaltered, apart from minor repair if required.
Dave, at the Nationals you intimated you were going to give some tuning/sailing tips on the website. Is this something that will go in here or somewhere else on website.
Hi Oliver, in process, unfortunately Sept to Jan is peek period for my the company I work for, but Amy has put the boom sail guides on this forum, I will finish off the rest shortly.
It is measured from the gooseneck.
A sail min 550
B sail min 540, max 560
C sail min 318, max 338
D sail min 280, max 300 (Tush)
D sail min 290, max 310 (0TT)
Yes thats good BUT which part of gooseneck. Back of mast as on big boat or where boom enters gooseneck.
Measured from the end of the gooseneck to the inner side of the outer slider
Thanks for the info. is it in the published rules anywhere. I cannot find it
@brynbychan. That’s okay. The rules are on the website under sailing/racing info and then class rules
